(BENSALEM, PA)– A 16-year-old boy is now facing murder charges after he allegedly killed a 13-year-old girl and shared images with a friend on Instagram.
The Bensalem Police Department began investigating the incident after receiving a phone call from the friend’s parent around 4:00 p.m. regarding a possible murder.
The woman told authorities that her daughter was on an Instagram video call with her friend when the friend flipped the camera screen and showed her daughter a girl’s body covered in blood.
The teen then asked the girl to help him hide the body.
Authorities arrived at the boy’s home and discovered the body of a 13-year-old girl who had been fatally shot in the bathroom.
Authorities say the boy tried clean up the scene and run, however, they were able to take him into custody.
It is unclear what led to the shooting.
While the teen was taken to a juvenile detention center, he is being charged as an adult. His charges include tampering with evidence, criminal homicide, and possessing instruments of crime.
