The New York Police Department is currently searching for a suspect who opened fire on a man several times while the victim walked inches away from two children on a sidewalk. The incident occurred on Thursday near1551 Sheridan Avenue in the Bronx. Video shows the suspect open fire on a man wearing a red hoodie as a 10-year-old and a 5-year-old scrambled to avoid the gun fire. At one point, the 10-year-old is seen attempting to shield the 5-year-old with her own body. Thankfully the children were uninjured.

The victim was shot in both the back and leg and transported to an area hospital. Authorities are now searching for the suspect and a man who was said to help the suspect get away from the scene on a scooter.
