HOMESTEAD, FL– The Miami-Dade Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a gunman who fatally shot a father in front of his mother and one-year-old child.
The incident occurred on May 29th in the front yard of a home at 528 Northwest Third Avenue.
Officials say the 27-year-old victim, Jose Guajardo, was standing in his front yard with his toddler and his mother when 19-year-old Monico Galban approached him on foot and shot him.
The police department says they received a notification about gunfire in the area around 12:18 p.m. and arrived to find Guajardo lying on the ground with a gunshot wound. He was airlifted from the scene and died several days later due to his injuries.
Officials are still searching for Galban and are asking for the public’s help in locating him.
