
PORT ST. LUCIE, FL– The Port St. Lucie Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a suspect who fatally shot another man on Wednesday.
The shooting took place just before 7 p.m. in a parking lot at Southwest Aledo Lane and Southwest Brigantine Place.
Authorities say the 20-year-old victim, accompanied by a woman, drove to the parking lot to meet two other people.
The gunman, now identified as 20-year-old Alan Dale Williams III, exited a red 2017 Jeep Cherokee and entered the victim’s car.
During the exchange, authorities say Williams shot the victim in the back of the head and fled the scene.
The driver of the jeep also fled the scene.
The victim was somehow able to drive the vehicle a short distance before succumbing to his injuries.
Authorities reported that the woman was unharmed.
The Port St. Lucie Police Department is asking for anyone who believes they have any information about the whereabouts of Williams or the driver of the jeep, to contact detectives at 772-871-5001.
