Authorities in Arkansas are reporting that a 40-year-old man is dead after he killed two people and repeatedly stabbed a responding police officer.

The incident occurred Sunday around 6:00 a.m. in a residential area near the Oklahoma state line.

Officials say they received a phone call involving a domestic disturbance and could hear screaming in the background.

When the officer arrived, they found the suspect Christofer Conner, hitting a 15-year-old boy in the face with a brick. The officer confronted Connor and that’s when Connor stopped hitting the teen and seemed to comply with the officer’s orders. The officer then attempted to put Connor in restraints but that’s when Connor produced a sharp edged weapon and stabbed the officer in the neck and in the throat.

The officer then fired two shots, instantly killing Connor.

The officer and the teen were taken to an area hospital where the teen later died of his injuries, which included multiple stab wounds and blunt force trauma.

The officer is said to be recovering in stable condition.

Meanwhile at the scene, investigators discovered the body of a woman inside the home. Authorities say the victim identified as Julia Marie Moore, died in an “extremely violent attack.”

A 5-year-old was also found in the home. Authorities say the child was unharmed and is now in the care of relatives.

Arkansas State Police are now investigating the incident.
