
A suspect has been taken into custody after a shooting at the Everglades National Park on Sunday. The park tweeted about the incident asking visitors and residents to shelter in place until they could locate the suspect.
Active shooter incident happening at Everglades NP. Main park road (SR 9336) closed for public safety. Visitors/residents in Flamingo should shelter in place. Suspect is a 33 y.o. white male. Federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies are coordinating the response.

He was finally located and taken into custody about an hour after the initial tweet. The park has since been reopened to the public. No other information has been given at this time.
