Authorities in Opa-locka have arrested a suspect in a shooting that left a 12-year-old girl injured.
The child was reportedly shot in the leg when two groups of people got into a fight outside of an apartment complex and began shooting at each other last Thursday.
According to the report, the child and her friends were playing outside when the incident took place.
The girl was taken to an area hospital where she spent several days before being released.
After an investigation, authorities arrested 28-year-old Devonte Octavian Brown on aggravated battery, aggravated child abuse, discharging a firearm in public among other charges.
Brown is being held on a $23,000 bond.
