(ST. PETERSBURG, FLA) — A man is facing charges for allegedly slapping a police horse in St. Petersburg Saturday morning. Shortly before 2:00 a.m. near Central Avenue and 3rd Street North, a St. Petersburg Police officer said he witnessed Alisha Lalani smack his partner’s horse on the rear end with an open hand. The officer says that police lights were active and the officers on horseback were responding to a call. Lalani, who said he didn’t know he wasn’t allowed to hit the animal, was arrested and charged with battery on a police horse.
The police horse is reportedly fine and not injured.
