Sunrise man pleads guilty to threatening election workers

Broward County, FL– A 38-year-old Sunrise, Florida man has pleaded guilty to threatening poll workers during the 2022 elections.
Joshua David Lubitz plead guilty on Wednesday for the incident that occurred on Aug. 17, 2022, at the Sunrise Senior Center.
Witnesses reported that Lubitz went into the polling area and began making several disturbing comments including, “Should I kill them one by one or should I blow the place up?”
After making the comments, Lubitz walked out to his vehicle and drove past the front of the polling station.
As Lubitz drove by, authorities reported that he extended his arm and made a threatening hand gesture toward the poll workers.
Lubitz is expected to be sentenced on July 25th. He faces up to five years in prison.
