OKEECHOBEE, FL– Authorities have taken a middle school student into custody after he allegedly pretended a bottle of tea was a gun.
The incident occurred at Osceola Middle School on Friday.
According to the report, the 14-year-old told other students that he would bring a gun to school on Friday.
When the students arrived at school, they asked the teen if he brought the weapon, and he told them he did.
Authorities say the teen was wearing an oversized hoodie, and when he was asked to show the gun, he put his hands into the front pockets of the hoodie and appeared to be holding one.
Several students then contacted School Resource Deputies, who immediately identified the student.
When the student was questioned, he admitted to making threats and pretending that a bottle of Lipton Ice Tea was a gun.
The student was charged with aggravated assault and disruption of school proceedings.
