A 24-year-old man has been arrested after he allegedly pulled off his facemask and kissed a stranger’s baby on the lips while at a store.

The incident was reported at a WinCo. store in Springfield, Oregon.

Springfield Police say an officer was flagged down by the 1-year-old’s father around 6:00 pm Thursday.

“While the mother glanced away for a brief moment, the suspect leaned down, removed his mask and kissed their daughter on the lips and then departed,” Police said.

The mother then searched for the suspect but could not locate him. She the told her husband and the WinCo. staff about the incident.

Authorities were able to identify the suspect as Austin Blake Stewart and arrested him after finding him hiding under a blanket near the store.

He is currently facing a physical harassment and disorderly conduct charge.
