A South Plantation High School student could face several charges after she allegedly poured bleach on another student during a fight.
The incident was reported on March 10th in the bus loop after classes let out for the day.
Witnesses say a 14-year-old and another student began fighting and that’s when the 14-year-old threw a yellow liquid that appeared to be bleach on to the other student.
Once the liquid hit the girl’s clothes, witnesses say they started to change color.
According to the police report, the victim had “visible blisters near her right-side neck and rash forming on her skin … lost a clump of hair, and was complaining about her gums burning with light bleeding due to a portion of the unknown light-yellow mixture getting into her mouth.”
The girls were separated during the fight and eventually released to their parents.
Authorities say however, that if the substance is determined to be bleach, the 14-year-old could face charges.
Officials have sent samples of the liquid to a crime lab and are waiting for the results.
Once the substance has been identified, the information will be sent to the state attorney’s office to determine how to handle the incident.
The victim is said to be recovering.
