When a police dispatcher questioned Baxter on the reason for calling, she said “she strangled her at first, but when that didn’t work, she stabbed her in the chest and neck,” the police report stated.
When deputies arrived to Baxter’s apartment on Northeast 163rd Street, they discovered her daughter on the ground of the living room with “several deep stab wounds to her chest, neck, and face.”
She was pronounced dead at the scene, with a knife found next to her corpse.
Baxter is being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center with no bond.
According to authorities, the suspect refused to speak with deputies, and a motive for the brutal slaughter was not revealed.
