FORT PIERCE, FL– The Fort Pierce Police Department has identified a victim who was fatally struck by an ambulance while riding a skateboard on Sunday.
The victim has been identified as 23-year-old Dillon Eugene Holcomb.
Witnesses told authorities that Holcomb was riding his skateboard when he attempted to cross South U.S. Highway 1 around 8:10 p.m. when was struck by an ambulance headed North on the highway.
Holcomb was rushed to HCA Lawnwood Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 10:24 p.m.
The investigation still remains active.
