
(POMPANO, FL) – UPDATE: After being shut down for almost four hours, I-95 near Sample road is officially reopened.
Officials were on the scene investigating all morning after a man was shot around 3:30 a.m.
PREVIOUS STORY: Officials shut down all southbound lanes of I-95 near the Broward and Palm Beach County line early Thursday morning following a shooting.
The Broward Sheriff’s Office announced via Twitter that the closure is at I-95 and Sample Road in Pompano Beach, and all southbound lanes are “shut down until further notice due to an active investigation.” Police are urging drivers to seek alternate routes.

According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office a man was shot just before 3:15 a.m. while driving on I-95. He was rushed to a local hospital, and his condition is unknown at the time.
Officials are currently investigating the shooting.
