Shooting leads to head-on crash in Lauderhill

LAUDERHILL, Fla. – Lauderhill police responded to the scene of an accident that apparently followed a shooting Tuesday morning.

According to BSO Sgt. Donald Prichard, authorities received a ShotSpotter alert shortly before 6:30 a.m. on Broward Boulevard in unincorporated Broward and found multiple shell casings scattered on the road.

A short time later, authorities were called about a traffic crash that had shutdown Sunrise Blvd where they found a shooting victim inside a green Mustang.

A man who was driving a white van in the area told police that he was heading to work when the driver of the Mustang approached him traveling the wrong way hitting him head on.

He said the driver appeared to have been shot in the chest and he believes the shooting was the result of a robbery.

The unidentified victim’s condition is unknown and the shooter is still at large.
