Shooting in Tampa leaves 1 woman dead

(TAMPA, Florida)– A woman was shot to death in a car in North Tampa Saturday morning, according to police.

The Tampa Police Department said officers responded to a call in West Busch Boulevard after shots were fired during a disturbance at 12:15 a.m.

Tampa Officers were then sent to the 2200 block of West Waters Avenue to assist the woman who was shot.

First responders arrived on the scene and attempted to revive the victim, but she passed away due to her injuries.

Police say the woman was “caught in the crossfire,” on Busch Boulevard in a vehicle with several other passengers.

The driver sped away from the scene and when they realized the woman was shot, called for help.

The shooting is still under investigation, and no arrests have been made.
