A shooting in Miami’s South Beach neighborhood has left a police officer injured with a stab wound and his attacker dead.
Miami Beach police tweeted that the shooting occurred at 9 p.m. Saturday on Ocean Drive.
They shot an unidentified man dead after he stabbed the police officer, according to a statement from Miami Beach police spokesperson Ernesto Rodriguez.
POLICE: Officer involved shooting at 10 Street and Ocean Drive . Avoid the area.

The injured officer is reportedly in stable condition.
Investigators have not revealed what prompted the shooting.
