Suspected homicide in Palm City leaves one woman dead, according to Sheriff’s deputies and WPTV.

Christine Weiss, a Martin County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman, said that deputies were performing a welfare check at a Southwest Honey Terrace home where the woman had been staying.

Officers arrived at the home and were able to see a woman unresponsive on her bedroom floor.

Once the home had been breached by deputies, the resident was determined to be deceased at the scene.

Authorities are still gathering information pertaining to the case.
