FORT LAUDERDALE, FL– Fort Lauderdale Police have issued a Shelter in Place notice for the area near Southwest First Avenue after receiving reports of a man standing on a balcony with a gun.

The report came in Friday afternoon in the 300 block. 

Authorities are urging those in the area south of Broward Boulevard between Andrews Avenue to Southwest Third Avenue to stay inside.

Additionally, authorities are advising drivers to use Broward Boulevard as an alternative route.
