The Taliban has declared victory and will be in control of the newly named Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan when America marks the 20th anniversary of 9-11. President Biden remains on vacation at Camp David, but promises to address the nation about this tragic development soon.
More evacuation flights are taking off from Afghanistan where thousands are trying to flee the country. The Taliban is now in control after seizing the capital city of Kabul on Sunday. Taliban leaders say they’ll negotiate a peaceful surrender of Afghanistan’s capital now that they have control. They overtook the country within days, leaving thousands at risk. After 18 years of war, more than 172-thousand Afghans, Americans, and others have been killed.
