(TORONTO, CANADA) — Tennis great and Palm Beach County resident Serena Williams is out of the Canadian Open after losing in the second round to Belinda Bencic in straight sets last night.
The 23-time Grand Slam singles champion was no match for Bencic, who won the gold medal at last summer’s Tokyo Olympics.
In her on-court interview after the match, Williams said she’s “no good at good-byes” then charmed the crowd with “Good-bye, Toronto!”

The Canadian Open was her first tournament since announcing that she’ll retire after the U.S. Open which begins later this month in New York. Tickets are going fast and are very expensive for Williams’ final hurrah.
