(HOUSTON, TX)– The Houston Police Department is reporting that they responded to Sen. Ted Cruz’s home on Tuesday after reports of an accidental stabbing.
The incident occurred around 8 p.m. at the home where Cruz lives with his wife and their 11 and 14-year-old daughters.
One person was rushed to an area hospital with self-inflicted stab wounds to their arm.
Though authorities did not disclose the patient’s name, a rep for the Senator reported that the senator’s 14-year-old daughter is “okay.”
“There were no serious injuries. The family requests the media respect their daughter’s privacy at this time.”
It is unclear if Sen. Cruz was home at the time of the incident.
