Searchers Find Miami Skydiver’s Body in Woods After Parachute Failure

A charity event turned tragic last Friday, when a local skydiver died after his parachute failed to open.

Searchers later found his body in the woods.

According to WFOR-TV, the victim is 51-year-old Yuset Hernandez.

He was going through a practice jump with his team on Friday near Gainesville, when things went terribly wrong.

Reports say Hernandez’s parachute did not fully open during that final jump.

A teammate told television station WJXT that Hernandez had nearly 30 years of skydiving experience.

He was preparing to participate in a charity skydiving event called “Krawl’n for the Fallen.” The event’s goal is to pay tribute to families of fallen officers.
