(LAKE WORTH BEACH, FL) A teenage driver and his 15 year old female passenger are in serious condition after rear-ending a Palm Beach County school bus on the first day of school.
The accident occurred at the Tri-Rail tracks in the westbound lanes of 6th Ave. South near I-95 just after 6:00 AM on Wednesday
School bus driver Julio Sierra was stopped at the railroad tracks with his warning lights when the 2021 Chevy Malibu driven by a 16 year old boy from Greenacres slammed into the back of his bus.
The Malibu became wedged underneath the rear end of the bus and according to the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office Sierra proceeded across the railroad tracks, not knowing an accident had occurred and dragging the car behind him.
Sierra stopped on the opposite side of the tracks when he realized what had happened.
