San Diego sword swallower hospitalized and unable to perform

(PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, MD)– Legendary sword swallower “Murrugun The Mystic,” revealed that he was rushed to the hospital following a performance at the Six Flags two months ago.
The 59-year-old was performing at the amusement park on Oct. 31 in the Woodmore CDP of Prince George’s County, Maryland.
Murrugun, whose real name is Scott Nelson, was transported to an area hospital in serious but not life-threatening condition.
While the stunt man was taken to the hospital from Six Flags for what appear to be work-related injuries, Production Manager for Aaron Radatz Productionz Josh Bowren reported that “It was not for an accident during the show but rather for other unrelated health conditions…”
It was later revealed through a Gofundme page that Nelson suffered slashes to his abdominal cavity and injuries to his liver:
“Five Swords scissored my abdominal cavity. It also appears that I pierced the lobe of my liver.”
Nelson himself then spoke to Inside Edition and told them that the incident occurred because he let go of the swords too fast.
According to reports Nelson could not eat for a month, and he has not been able to work in some time.
