Robbery suspect targeting elderly women

The Miami-Dade Police Department is currently searching for a robbery suspect who is believed to be elderly women.

The first incident occurred on April 2nd at a home on the 1200 block of Northwest 30th Street.

Authorities say a man between the ages of 30 and 40 broke into an elderly woman’s home through the front door. The victim says the man had a knife and grabbed her by the neck.

The suspect then told the victim “I’m not gonna hurt you. All I want is money,” before grabbing the woman’s necklace and two phones.

A second incident occurred less than 30 minutes away on April 10th. Authorities say the suspect shoved a woman in her 80’s to the ground and grabbed her purse before running off.

Officials say both incidents were captured on camera and they believe the suspect is the same in each case.
