New Project

A Port St. Lucie teen who went missing prompting an all hands on deck police search, just wanted to skip school.

15-year-old Saige Stiles went missing on Monday just before 7:00 a.m. while walking to Treasure Coast Community High School.

Authorities reported that they began searching for the teen after her friend contacted police saying that while talking to Stiles told her she believed she was being followed while they were on the phone.

Officials arrived to the area that Stiles was last believed to be walking and found her bookbag and phone, but could not find her.

After going door to door investigators found video of Stiles walking through the backyard of a home and not appearing to be in any danger.

Around 10 hours after the search began, Stiles was eventually located by a volunteer with Florida’s Treasure Coast Guardian Angels as she walked along a roadway.

Authorities are now reporting that Stiles confessed that she just wanted to skip school.
