First responders in Miami-Dade County are reporting that they were delayed from providing care to an injured man because his dog would not let them near the victim.
The incident was reported around 1:53 p.m. at a home on 4223 NW 23rd Ave.
Authorities were called to the area after a witness reported a man had been shot.
When authorities arrived at the scene, they located the victim but could not treat him for 10 minutes because the dog refused to let anyone near him.
The victim has since been taken to an area hospital, however, his condition is unknown at this time.

It is unclear if a gunman has been found at this time.
