
PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. — Port St. Lucie police are looking for a person of interest after 2-year-old child was shot in the head Friday night.
The child was shot just before midnight at the Evergreen Condominium complex and is still hospitalized in critical condition, police say.
According to investigators, the child called 911 and then transported the two-year-old to the emergency room at the St. Lucie Medical Center herself.
“The two-year-old had a gunshot wound to the head but was still breathing. The child was transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center and is currently in critical condition,” said Assistant Chief Richard Del Toro.
Police are searching for Mohamed Faiyaz, 21, who was at the scene at the time of the shooting.
