(PORT ST. LUCIE, Florida)– On Saturday night, a man was struck and killed by a vehicle at Walton Road and Southeast Village Green Drive in Port St. Lucie.

Police responded to the scene at 9:18 and found the body of Stephen Ross, 45, of Port St. Lucie, on Southeast Village Green Drive.

The initial investigation revealed that Ross was struck by an Isuzu Rodeo traveling west on Walton Road.

Police spokesman, Sgt. John Dellacroce said Ross was crossing a crosswalk, but the Isuzu had the green light.

Ross was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Traffic Homicide Investigators are continuing to investigate the incident.
