Police vehicle stolen from outside hospital

MIAMI, FL– A 33-year-old suspect is in custody after he allegedly stole a police SUV from outside of a hospital Monday night.
The incident occurred at the Jackson Behavioral Health Hospital’s Emergency Center just after 8:00 p.m.
Officials say a Miami Police officer was in the process of dropping off a patient when a suspect, later identified as Joshua Lee Marlowe, jumped into the vehicle and drove off.
Surveillance video from the scene shows Marlowe canvasing the vehicle before opening the door and taking off.
Authorities were able to track the vehicle to Northwest 28th Street and 22nd Court. A tactical robbery team was then deployed to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle.
Officials were able to stop Marlowe near Northwest 27th Avenue and 28th Street.
When Marlowe got out of the vehicle, he was said to have been wearing a City of Miami police hat.
He has been taken into custody and is facing charges of grand theft, grand theft of a law enforcement emergency vehicle, burglary, and driving with a suspended license.
