(OKEECHOBEE, FL) – Police in Okeechobee are looking for a female driver who they said tried to lure a child toward her vehicle Friday morning.

Police say a mother told them that her child was outside playing basketball when a white Chevrolet Malibu stopped in front of her home and tried lure her child to come with her.

According to police, the child ran inside his home and told his mother right away.

Investigators said the incident occurred in the 500 block of Southwest Nineteenth Street at about 10:30 a.m. The incident was captured on the family’s home security system, however the camera did not capture the vehicle’s license plate.

The driver is described to be older woman with gray hair.

Officers have not been able to locate the unable to locate the driver, and are seeking the public’s help for any information.
