Authorities is Chicago are currently investigating a shooting that left an off-duty police officer dead.

The shooting was reported 7:17 p.m. at a home in the 8500 block of West Winona Street in the Oriole Park neighborhood.

While many details surrounding the shooting are unknown at this time, Chicago police and the Civilian Office of Police Accountability said that the shooting involved two off-duty officers in which one of them was fatally injured.

The deceased is only described as a 44-year-old was pronounced dead at midnight at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge.
