Police: Boyfriend arrested, confesses to kidnapping, killing pregnant girlfriend

Police have arrested a man who confessed to killing his pregnant girlfriend in Southwest Miami-Dade.

Police said Xavier Johnson confessed to kidnapping and killing 27-year-old Andreae Lloyd. He has been charged with first-degree murder.

He appeared before a judge on Thursday.

“No bond for count one first-degree murder, no bond for kidnapping and no bond for armed burglary with an assault or battery,” said Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge Mindy Glazer.

His arrest comes after officials said they found human remains. Officials have since confirmed the remains belong to Lloyd.

Officials had been searching for her since early Tuesday morning.

Police said Johnson showed up to Lloyd’s job as a caretaker at a group home, beat her up and kidnapped her.

Lloyd’s family had suspected Johnson had something to do with it and they were able to track him down in a black pick-up truck and called police.

“One of our family members followed from home. For whatever lucky reason that was, and I can say that must have been the gift of God,” said the victim’s uncle Manuel Lloyd. “We all got there, held him there until the police got there.”

Police responded to the area and confirmed they found human remains.

Officers detained, questioned then arrested Johnson.
