(PORT SAINT LUCIE, FL) – Officials have made a fourth arrest involving a handgun and ammunition being brought on the campus of Treasure Coast High School on Thursday. The Port St. Lucie Police Department arrested two 16-year-old students and a 15-year-old student from the school on Thursday. Police announced in a tweet that they have arrested a 4th student involved in the incident.

Police spokesman Sgt. John Dellacroce said a teacher notified officials immediately after they heard about the possibility of a gun on campus.
Upon investigating, officials identified the students involved, and when they searched one student’s backpack they found a handgun and ammunition. Police said the gun was brought to school by one of the 16-year-old students. The three students arrested Thursday will face charges of possession of a firearm on school property and unlicensed carry of a concealed firearm. It is unknown what charges the fourth student would face.
