The Broward Sheriff’s Office is reporting that a pedestrian was struck by a Brightline train after they stood on the tracks.
The incident took place around 4:20 p.m. on Tuesday along Copans Road and Dixie Highway in Pompano Beach.
The train engineer told investigators that he noticed a person standing on the tracks as the train approached and immediately began flashing the lights and honking the horn but the person did not move.
The Broward Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the crash.
