Authorities are reporting that the person of interest in the disappearance of a 19-year-old Florida girl has been found dead.

27-year-old Armando Manuel Caballero was found dead on Monday of what authorities believe are self-inflicted wounds.

Officials say they were searching for Caballero in the connection with the disappearance of  19-year-old Miya Marcano who has not been seen or heard from since Friday afternoon.

“Miya is still missing. Her disappearance is suspicious, and our detectives and the family members, obviously, suspect foul play,” said Orange County Sheriff John Mina during a news conference held Monday, “so we’re still doing everything possible that we can to find her.”

Caballero who worked at the apartment complex where Marcano worked and lived, became a person of interest in Marcano’s disappearance after investigators found that a maintenance-issued master key FOB that Cabellero was known to carry with him was used to enter Marcano’s apartment around 4:30 p.m. on Friday, just 30 minutes before Marcano was scheduled to get off of work.

Those close to Marcano told police that Cabellero expressed romantic interest in Marcano but was constantly turned down.

Marcano was supposed to fly from Orlando to Fort Lauderdale to visit her family but never boarded her flight.

Marcano stands 5 feet tall and weighs 130 pounds. She has brown hair and green eyes.
