PEMBROKE PINES, FL– A Florida couple is facing several charges after authorities found several stolen vehicles at their residence.
Pembroke Pines police say they began investigating 33-year-old Edson Baron and 27-year-old Samorra Baron on Monday after the GPS on a vehicle that was reported stolen displayed a signal in the area.
When authorities arrived at the home in the 700 block of Southwest 67th Terrace, they noticed several vehicles parked outside of the home, and “numerous” vehicle parts scattered throughout the yard.
Once authorities were granted a search warrant for the property, officials found five vehicles that were reported stolen from different areas and neighborhoods in Florida and North Carolina.
Investigators say they also located two unreported stolen vehicles and one vehicle with an altered vehicle identification number.
A tally of the parts found in the yard included 18 doors, 11 trunk lids, 10 catalytic converters, 8 airbags, and 28 tires and rims.
Both suspects are facing five counts of grand theft of a motor vehicle, possession of a vehicle with an altered VIN, and operating of a chop shop.
