A 17-year-old boy who was riding in a shopping cart being pulled by a bicycle that crashed last month has died, authorities announced Wednesday.

The crash took place at around 9 p.m. June 30 in the 8400 block of Belvedere Rd, near the South Florida Fairgrounds. Alezie lived a few blocks away from the scene.
According to PBSO’s report, Alezie was riding in a cart that was attached by a plastic grocery bag to a bicycle. A 16-year-old boy was pedaling the bicycle.
The report goes on to say that 28-year-old Alvardo Nathan Bauld, of West Palm Beach, was driving a 2007 Mitsubishi Gallardo east on Belvedere Rd, when the bike-cart crossed the road’s three lanes.
The impact of the separated the bike and the cart, and sent Alezie onto the car’s hood and windshield.
Bauld and the 16-year-old were not hurt, the report states. It adds that Bauld was wearing a seat belt, and it did not list alcohol as a possible factor in the crash.
