PBSO deputy shoots gun-wielding man in Publix parking lot

(GREENACRES, FLA) — Palm Beach County deputies responded to a suspicious person wielding a firearm in the parking lot of Publix in Greenacres on Monday.
When deputies arrived, they confronted the armed male in parking lot and attempted to negotiate and deescalate the situation.
PBSO Sheriff Ric Bradshaw says, the subject began to wave the firearm in a threatening manner at deputies at which time one PBSO deputy shot the man twice.
The suspicious male, 21, was transported to a local hospital where he is currently listed in critical condition.
The PBSO deputy involved in the shooting is on paid administrative leave which is standard department protocol.
PBSO says the shooting victim had been Baker Acted in the past.
FDLE, PBSO Violent Crimes detectives and the State Attorney’s Office are investigating this deputy involved shooting.
