
According to court records, the parents of Ethan Crumbley have hired high profile lawyer to represent them in the Michigan high school shooting case, while their son was appointed a public defender.
Records show that James and Jennifer Crumbley hired Shannon Smith to represent them.
Smith previously represented former gymnastics Team USA doctor, Larry Nassar, in his sexual assault case involving Olympic stars Simone Biles and Aly Raisman.
The Crumbley’s each face four counts of involuntary manslaughter after their 15-year-old son used his father’s gun to open fire on fellow students at Oxford High School.
Four people were killed and seven others were injured in the shooting.
Ethan Crumbley was taken into custody immediately after the shooting.
He is facing 24 counts, including 4 counts of first-degree murder and terrorism. He is also being tried as an adult.
Court records show that he is using a court-appointed public defender, Paulette Michel Loftin to represent him.
