A 20-year-old Palm Springs, Florida man has been arrested after police say he killed his mother.
Michael Reed Hall was taken into custody on March 22nd after he confessed to killing his mother.
Authorities say they were called to a home on Gulfstream Road, near Lake Worth Road on March 16th due to the discovery of a deceased person.
When police entered the home, they found the body of 53-year-old Sherri Lynn Hall in a pool of blood with multiple blunt trauma injuries to her head, face, and body. Additionally, authorities discovered two kitchen knives covered in blood, a bucket full of water, dish soap, and a mop with blood on the handle, and blood soaked wet wipes scattered around the living room.
Neighbors told police that they witnessed the woman’s son acting suspiciously that morning and pacing back and forth in the lawn. One of the neighbors said Hall asked him for a cigarette and that’s when he noticed blood on his hands. The second neighbor says the 20-year-old was acting so suspicious that she ran back in the house and woke up her husband and called the police.
That same morning, police were called to a convenience store after a clerk called for a welfare check on Hall. Police said Hall had several injuries to his body, but he refused medical treatment and gave them a fake name. Hall was eventually taken to JFK Hospital for an evaluation after PBSO received another report that he was acting suspiciously.
When Hall was released from JFK on Monday, authorities then took him into custody for questioning. At that point, Hall confessed to killing his mother.
Hall is now facing a a first-degree murder charge and is expected to appear in court on Tuesday.
