PALM BEACH COUNTY- A woman being held at knife point in the Thornhill Green community west of Boca was rescued by sheriff’s deputies when they shot her attacker early Saturday morning.
Deputies were called to do a welfare check at a home in the 22000 block of Larkspur Trail at around 6:30 AM and heard a woman inside screaming for help.
After forcing their way in, they found a woman being held at knifepoint by a male suspect who refused the deputies’ commands to drop his weapon.
At that point, one of the deputies fired their weapon, striking the attacker in the head.
The victim was taken to an area hospital where she is reported to be in stable condition, while the male subject, identified as 20 year old Tzvi Allswang, is in condition at separate hospital but is expected to survive.
Allswang faces charges of Armed False Imprisonment and Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon
The deputy who fired the shot is on paid administrative leave while PBSO and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement investigate.
