West Palm Beach Mayor Keith James says the streets of his city are safer and crime is in decline thanks to the efforts of law enforcement.
West Palm Beach Police Chief Frank Adderley announced an 18-month investigation has resulted in the arrests of 18 suspects tied to a reputed West Palm Beach street gang.
The Feb. 6 arrests were part of “Operation Goodfellas” and charges range from racketeering and weapons violations to attempted murder, according to Chief Adderley.
A 19th suspect was still at-large.
State Attorney Dave Aronberg said the arrests “cripple the 4th Street Gang.”
He adds that the suspects were so brazen that they made drug sales in broad daylight in clear view from the Palm Beach County Courthouse.
