ARLINGTON, TX- – One student is dead and another student suffered injuries after a third student opened fire at a high school in Arlington, Texas Monday.
The incident occurred outside of Lamar High School around 6:55 a.m., just before students were scheduled to return to campus.
Arlington police Chief Al Jones reported that both a male and a female victim were transported to an area hospital with gunshot wounds.
The male victim died at the hospital, while the female student was treated after being grazed by the bullet.
The shooter was arrested at the school and is being held at a juvenile detention center in the area.
No other injuries were reported.
