One dead after officer-involved shooting in West Palm Beach

WEST PALM BEACH, FL– One person is dead after an officer-involved shooting at an apartment complex in West Palm Beach.
The shooting occurred just after 3 p.m. at the Paradise Cove apartments in the 1200 block of The Pointe Drive, just off Village Boulevard.
Authorities say West Palm Beach police were responding to a report of an armed break-in at the complex when they encountered the suspect.
Officials say they were forced to open fire on the suspect, however, it was not said what prompted the shooting.
Authorities attempted CPR on the suspect but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
No officers were injured in the shooting.
The name of the suspect has not been released at this time.
The shooting is under investigation by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
