OKEECHOBEE, FL–

Emergency call systems for the Okeechobee County Fire Rescue have been restored.

Those seeking emergency assistance can now dial 911 to get in touch with the rescue department.

Overnight the department reportedly lost access to their emergency system and asked the public to contact them on at 863-763-3117.

It is unclear what caused the outages, however, several parts of Okeechobee County were left without power and other services due to Hurricane Ian.
