The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office is currently searching for information regarding the shooting death of a Vero Beach man.

The shooting was reported on Sunday Aug. 8th the area of 5th Street SW near 43rd Avenue SW.

Police say they were called to the area for a “man down” situation and discovered the victim  Justin Bechtold, suffering from a gunshot wound next to an open door.

Bechtold was rushed to an area hospital where he later died of his injuries.

Deputies searched the residence where Bechtold was discovered in front of after believing someone may have been inside, however, they did not find anyone.
