A South Florida man has been charged with killing his wife while her infant twin daughters were inside their apartment, according to sheriff’s officials.
Kathi Blankenberg’s daughters were found safe when deputies responding to a call about a shooting at a Pompano Beach apartment on Monday morning, according to a news release from the Broward Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators say 31-year-old Philip Edwards claimed that he found his wife, who had been shot.

He was arrested Monday night, after officers executed a search warrant and found several firearms, including the one they believe was used to kill the 35-year-old Blankenberg, inside Edwards’ Mercedes Benz.
The girls, who were unharmed, are currently in the custody of the Florida Department of Children and Families.
Edwards faces multiple charges, including second-degree murder, child neglect, possession of a weapon and probation violation.
